Eminem will post the first back-to-back Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers of his career as "Love The Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna, is set to hit No. 1 on the chart to be released tomorrow morning (July 22). The rapper debuted atop the Hot 100 in May with "Not Afraid," the introductory single from his current Billboard 200 chart-topper, "Recovery."
"Love The Way You Lie" is Eminem's fourth Hot 100 No. 1, following the 12-week juggernaut "Lose Yourself" (2002), "Crack a Bottle," with Dr. Dre & 50 Cent (2009) and the aforementioned "Not Afraid." For Rihanna, the track is her seventh No. 1 since first appearing on the Hot 100 dated June 11, 2005, the most by any artist during that time span.
"Lie" maintains its hold of the No. 1 slot on Digital Songs for a fourth frame, its entire chart run, reaching a single week high of 352,000 downloads (up 12%), according to Nielsen SoundScan, while airplay continues to build at a rapid clip (7-6 on Radio Songs, up 25 million listener impressions to 99 million), according to Nielsen BDS. Both increases are enough to earn "Lie" the dual Digital & Airplay Gainer awards on the Hot 100.
Katy Perry's "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, slips to No. 2 after spending the past six weeks as the chart's leader. However, while the song descends from the Hot 100 perch, it rises to the top of Radio Songs with 154 million listener impressions. The track is Perry's first No. 1 on the airplay-based tally.
This week's Hot 100 top 10 hosts no new entries. "Airplanes" by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams holds at No. 3, Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" jumps 6-4 and "OMG" by Usher featuring will.i.am, slips 4-5.
Usher also posts the chart's Hot Shot Debut, coming in at No. 19 with "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love," featuring Pitbull. The song is Usher's second top 20 debut this year as "OMG" entered at No. 14 in April. His new debut will appear on a new album, "Versus," due August 24 as well as on a deluxe edition of the three-month old "Raymond V Raymond," out on the same date, which will combine the contents of both sets.
Moving back to the top 10, Mike Posner's "Cooler Than Me" calmly lifts 7-6 and "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars drops 5-7. The titles at No. 8 through 10 all remain in place; "I Like It" by Enrique Iglesias featuring Pitbull, Drake's "Find Your Love" and "Ridin' Solo" by Jason Derulo, respectively.
